Beyonce Giselle Knowles, is a popular American R&B singer. Besides singing, she is also a songwriter, record producer, actress, dancer, fashion designer, and model.
Beyonce was born September 4, 1981 and was raised in Houston, Texas. As a tribute to her mother’s maiden name, she was named after her. Since the age of 8, this talented Texan beauty has been using her voice to make dreams come true. Under the management of her father, Knowles was joined by her cousin, Kelly Rowlands, and two high school friends to form the group ‘Destiny’s Child’—the worlds best-selling female group of all time.

In 1998, Destiny’s Child released their first self-titled album “Destiny’s Child”. Within weeks, the album went platinum. Beyonce was well on her way to fame, fortune, and success.
In 2003, her debut solo album, ‘Dangerously in Love’ was yet another success. It also birthed the number-one singles ‘Crazy in Love’ and ‘Baby Boy’ and earned Beyonce five Grammy Awards in a single night in 2004. Sensational!
Beyonce celebrated her 25th birthday September 4, 2006, and along with it released her second album, ‘B’Day. In its first week, the album sold more than 541,000 copies in the U.S., immediately coming in at number one—making it her highest first-week sales as a solo artist. The album has had worldwide success selling 5.4 million copies worldwide. It also earned Beyonce her seventh solo Grammy Award. She has won ten in total.
Success has also included film for Ms. Knowles. Movies such as Carmen: A Hip Hopera, Goldmember, The Fighting Temptations, The Pink Panther, and most recently, Dreamgirls. Dreamgirls has passed the $100 million dollar gross mark in the U.S.
Beyonce’s vibrant and glamorous image also has made her an in demand commercial spokesperson and model. Ad campaigns include major companies such as L’Oreal, Tommy Hilfiger and Pepsi.
