The Police
Reggae and punk music marks the style of this legendary British three-piece rock band. The Police band members include singer/bassist Sting, guitarist Andy Summers, and drummer Stewart Copeland. The band was formed in the early 1970’s, and after several years together, broke up in the mid 80’s.
The Police then reunited in 2007 to perform at the 49th annual Grammy Awards where they boldly announced themselves and a reunion tour. “We are The Police and we’re back!” was their opening statement before performing their hit single ‘Roxanne’. The tour marks The Police 30 year anniversary.
The first single in 1978 that launched their popularity was the hit single, “Roxanne”. By far, one of The Police most popular songs, was the 1983 platinum hit single “Every Breath You Take”. It won the Grammy for Song of the Year, and also won the Grammy for Best Pop Performance by a group vocal.
The Police opened their Reunion Tour in Vancouver on May 28 in front of 22,000 excited, eager fans at one of two nearly sold-out concerts. The Police Reunion Tour will be a must see, for all of those old time loyal Police fans!
