The Average Joe's Review - Denver Broncos Season Preview

July 10, 2007 -- Denver Broncos season tickets at INVESCO Field at Mile High stadium will go on sale beginning Saturday, July 28th. In general, tickets for the Denver Broncos are hard to find due to the fact that Broncos tickets have sold out for 285 consecutive regular-season games.

Denver BroncosAbout 24,000 season ticket holders account for the majority of tickets. Those looking to get into a game in 2007 have a chance to buy tickets July 28. That's when single-game tickets will go on sale. Each football season the team offers anywhere from "1,000 to 1,500" tickets per game. The Denver Broncos will offer 2,000 half-price tickets for each game of the 2007 season per state legislation dating back to the opening of the stadium in 2001.

At the beginning of the 2006-2007 season, the Broncos looked as if they had what it took to take it all the way to the Super Bowl. Their offense started to catch fire late last year as Jay Cutler took over in December but the defense was a disaster after its record setting first half pace.

Denver ended up being only a tiebreaker away from reaching the playoffs. However, a season filled with inconsistencies at the quarterback position caused the Broncos to end up with a 9-7 record in the tough AFC.

This season looks to be very promising for the Denver Broncos as they are considered by many to be playoff contenders. The Broncos maintained their old habits by ditching leading rusher Tatum Bell and bringing in power back Travis Henry. Henry is a workhorse who should fit in well with Mike Shanahan's hard-nosed offensive style.

The Broncos offense has the potential to be among the league's best in 2007 with the addition of Travis Henry at running back and Daniel Graham at Tight End. Big things are expected of Cutler after he showed flashes of Elway last season although none of his flair for the dramatics as the Broncos could have easily won 2 of his starts.

Denver's defense has looked fairly good the past few seasons, but are in transition with the addition of Jim Bates at Defensive Coordinator. The defensive line had trouble getting pressure on the quarterback so not surprisingly the team spent 3 of their 4 picks on the defensive line including one of football's top pass rushers in the draft in Jarvis Moss and the talented but troubled Tim Crowder.

Also, Denver suspended defensive end Kenny Peterson, who was acquired this offseason to replace the out-going Courtney Brown, for the first four games of the 2007 season after he violated the NFL's policy on anabolic steroids. Denver announced that Peterson would be suspended without pay for the first four games of the season. Peterson can remain with the team during training camp, but afterwards, he'll be banned until October 1.

The Broncos have plenty of talent on offense and defense, but the team is missing some key leaders from last season. If some players can step up to fill the void and Cutler takes a few steps forward the Broncos could compete with San Diego for the division title.

Kirk Dyer, the executive director of ticket operations and administration says the "limited inventory" of full-price tickets will go on sale at 11 a.m. at the stadium ticket office, Ticketmaster locations and through Ticketmaster.com. Half-price tickets will go on sale at 1 p.m. only on Ticketmaster phone lines and Ticketmaster.com. About 90 percent of sales will likely take place on the Internet.

If you're lucky enough you can buy Denver Broncos tickets for all 10 games but the chances of that happening are slim. Regular-season games normally sell out within an hour and that can be more than expected this year just given the strength of the Broncos home schedule.

Bronco tickets are sold at face value. The system also removes a layer of responsibility from Broncos season ticket holders looking to sell their NFL football tickets. Dyer says "We've really been taking an aggressive approach to people selling their tickets online -- advertising their tickets and re-selling them". "We have been revoking season tickets. We're really encouraging people to use TicketExchange, which is a program we set up with Ticketmaster.

Denver Broncos fans will be able to choose from a variety of price level tickets which may be purchased via the Ticketmaster charge-by-phone system (303-830-TIXS), through the Internet at Ticketmaster.com, local Ticketmaster outlets (including select Macy's stores, select FYE stores, Cherry Creek Shopping Center Guest Services Desk, The Official Visitors Center, 1600 California St. Ste. 6, Angelo's CD'S & More, and Twist & Shout) or at the Broncos' Ticket Office at INVESCO Field at Mile High. For best results, the Broncos recommend the online and charge-by-phone capabilities that Ticketmaster provides to help avoid long lines while gaining access to the same inventory. Included in the inventory for sale are full-price tickets, half-price tickets, ADA tickets, and Club Seat tickets.

Full-price tickets go on sale at 11 a.m. MDT on Saturday, July 28. NFL Football tickets for the Denver Broncos may be purchased via Ticket-Venue.com, the Ticketmaster charge-by-phone system (303-830-TIXS), at any local Ticketmaster outlet, through the Internet at Ticketmaster.com or in person at the Broncos' Ticket Office at INVESCO Field at Mile High. The Broncos' Ticket Office is located between gates 9 and 10 near the sculpture 'The Broncos'. No ticket-purchase lines will be allowed to form until 90 minutes before the 11 a.m. on-sale time at INVESCO Field at Mile High. Those potential ticket buyers assembled in lines will then select a place in a ticket-buying line by a random number drawing. Regardless of where they were situated before the drawing, customers will assemble in order with the lowest drawn number being first in line. Please note that there will be a limit of four tickets per household per game.
